Digital copies of cine film footage taken by John Jewell over a period of 50 years. Subjects include the Punjab Athletic Championships, 1940s [during which time Jewell was working for Attock Oil Refinery in Pakistan]; Commonwealth, Olympics and European Championships meetings; and numerous events held in the United Kingdom including cross-country championships, London to Brighton races, Polytechnic Marathon and numerous other road and track races.

The Road Runners Club made these digital copies of the cine films in 2010, including a set in John Jewell's papers and thus allowing the footage to be accessed by researchers. The original cine films are not available for consultation.

Contains issues from 2 October 1958 to 20 June 1962. Issue 519 is missing from 1957, and issue 584 is missing from 1961

Copies of recordings made by Raymond Priestley in the 1960s and 1970s and later copied to digital format, consisting of a copy of a BBC Midland Home Service interview with him in 1963, a recording of a lecture about his experiences of Antarctic exploration with Shackleton, and Scott, and recordings of Priestley singing some of the sailing and sledging songs he and his companions sang during their time in the Antarctic. The copies were made before deposit with Special Collections, probably from original recordings on earlier or obsolete formats

Digital records generated by a project devised by Malcom Dick, Senior Lecturer in Regional and Local History at the University of Birmingham to provide opportunities for students to develop skills in working with the University Archive and to promote the University's history and heritage to other students and a wider audience. This material comprises digital recordings of presentations on aspects of the University's history and of the student experience, given at a public event in March 2013, together with digital photographs taken at the public event and a programme for the public event

Set of sixty three audio recordings with former students and staff of the University of Birmingham between the 1920s and the 1980s, primarily discussing their experiences at the university but often also discussing their childhoods and school education, and sometimes their subsequent careers, originally made on compact cassette tape between November 1991 and July 1992.

Most recordings were made between November 1991 and March 1992, almost entirely by Donald Jones, but there is also one interview by Roy Lowe and Alison Gaukroger several months later, in November 1992.

The recordings on compact cassette were digitised in-house 2021-2022 and new transcripts were made in 2024 for those recordings without them.

Contains issues from 28 September 1962 to 22 June 1966. Issue 618, 3 October 1962 is missing from 1962; issues 632, 27 February 1963 and 644 30 October 1963 are missing from 1963; issue 658 18 March 1964, issues 660 to 662 probably September-October 1964 are missing from 1964; issue 677 3 March 1965, issues 682-683 May-June 1965 and issue 690 24 November 1965 are missing from 1965
Some numbers have been used more than once

Contains issues from 5 October 1966 to 7 May 1969. Issue 721 probably 15 March, and issue 731 8 November are missing from 1967, a misnumbered issue mid March and another misnumbered issue April/May, and issue 745 9 October are missing from 1968
A copy of The Birmingham Post, 4 December 1968 which contains articles about the student occupation of the Great Hall building is inserted in the volume at that date

Contains issues from 27 September 1969 to 21 June 1972. There appear to be no issues missing, but issues published in 1971 and 1972 often do not include issue numbers
